Electronics and gadgets have always been my weakness. I would do away with milk and have black tea, lessen the edible oil in my curry or sacrifice having meat on my menu based on my budget, but I could sell my kidney just as one boy did somewhere, to possess the latest gadgets. The entry of Steve Jobs and Apple products in the international market heightened my curiosity and then the cravings began!
Today, I am the proud owner of the latest iPhone 4S, having acquired it through future income (loan). However, there is not a single day that I regret having to pay a monthly installment of whatever I can (thank god, the loan was from a dear friend!).
There is literally nothing that iPhone cannot do. Among infinite features of the iPhone, I shall list down two features that has become a part of my life.
One feature of iPhone 4S that has become a part of my life is Siri, the intelligent Personal Assistant (PA) that helps me get things done. All I have to do is ask! I can talk to my iPhone as I would to a normal person. Siri not only understands what I say but it also knows what I mean. It figures out the right apps to use to find the right answer. Then, just like a personal assistant, it answers you. I can use Siri to make phone calls, send messages, schedule appointments and meetings, set reminders, take dictations and so much more
all by just talking to the phone and asking it to do that! The downside is that, my English accent can sometimes confuse my otherwise smart iPhone. But never mind
keep on talking to it. It slowly gets used to your accent too!!
The other iPhone app that is a part of my life is Endomondo, the smart sports tracker. As an avid mountain biker, I use the app to track my workouts. All I have to do is press 'Start' while starting a ride and then press 'Stop' on completion of the ride. It keeps a history of my workouts, uses GPS to display the routes I have taken, records the calories burnt, distance covered, time taken, speed and so on. Moreover, I get audio feedbacks on every lap on my performance, and my friends can follow me and vice versa .. live! The app has become so much a part of our biking group's life that our biking group is even named after the application!
Web browsing on the go, instant Facebook status updates, alerts on emails received, taking down notes, keeping diary, you name it.. iPhone has it all.
The latest is this blogging app that I found through the recommendation of a good friend and colleague. Now, I have the world in my hands!
My biggest nightmare now is
waking up to find my iPhone gone!
Welcome to the blogosphere, Great going and Happy Blogging
